Supporting Rev Lorna as She Prepares for Ordination

Please hold Rev Lorna Hassel in your prayers today. She has been away on retreat with her fellow curates, preparing her heart, mind, and spirit for their ordination as priests yesterday

This retreat time is a precious space for them to rest in God, to reflect on the calling they have received, and to ready themselves for the joy and responsibility of priestly ministry.

A Prayer for Lorna and Her Fellow Curates

Gracious God,
We give you thanks for Lorna and for all those preparing to be ordained priest.
Fill them with your Holy Spirit as they step into this new chapter of ministry.
Grant them courage, gentleness, wisdom, and joy.
Strengthen their hearts in service, deepen their compassion,
and surround them with your peace as they offer themselves to your Church and your world.
Bless their families, our congregations, and all who support them.
May their ministry bear fruit that brings hope, healing, and love.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Lorna’s First Service as Priest

We are delighted to share that Lorna will preside at the Eucharist for the very first time on Sunday 28th June at 10.30am at the Together as One service in Durston. This will be a truly special moment in the life of our benefice, and all are warmly encouraged to come and celebrate with her.

Please keep Lorna and her fellow curates in your prayers today and tomorrow as they prepare for this joyful and holy occasion.
